For an
overview of Jewish youth philanthropy, listen to “Getting in on the Ground
Floor,” an audio file of a workshop organized by JTFN at the 2007 JFN
conference. A description of the session is below, and the MP3 file is on the
right of this page.
Getting
in on the Ground Floor - The Jewish Teen Funders Network
What would a group of teenagers do if they had $20,000 to give away? Meet two
teen participants in the Teen Tzedakah Project in West Palm Beach, who discuss
how their involvement in Jewish youth philanthropy has changed the way they
think about themselves as Jews and as effective philanthropists. Learn from
funders who created Jewish youth philanthropy programs in their communities,
and how the newly-launched Jewish Teen Funders Network (JTFN) will help you
bring Jewish youth philanthropy to day schools, synagogues, federations,
community foundations, and youth groups to your community. Hear about JTFN’s
new pilot incentive grants program, which will provide 6–8 communities with up
to $10,000 a year for three years to create local Jewish youth philanthropy
programs, and learn how to apply!
