In 2005-6 and 2006-7 The Jewish Funders Network, partnered
with the The Rashi Foundation to offer the JFN/Rashi Matching Grants for Israel
Initiative.
The Rashi Foundation provided $2 million to match first-time (or 3 times
increased) gifts of $25,000-$50,000 by JFN members to directly fund projects in
Israel.
In 2005-6 $2.7 million was awarded including $1.5 million in first time
grants and $1.2 million in matching funds.
32 donors made first-time grants to 23 non-profit organizations.
In 2006-7 $1.3 million was awarded including $705,602 in
first-time gifts and $618,000 in matching funds. 19 donors made 21 grants to 18
Israeli non-profit organizations
