CANVAS and the Fooksman Family Foundation Invite You to "An Afternoon With the Arlekin Players"
Join us as we learn more about the future of Jewish theater with with one of the great virtual theater-makers of our time, Igor Golyak, founder and artistic director of Arlekin Players, and his producing partner Sara Stackhouse.
This virtual gathering with Igor, a Jewish refugee from the former Soviet Union, will present a behind-the-scenes look at Arlekin's virtual theater work-in-progress — WITNESS — which explores Jewish migration stories through a modern lens.
We expect this new piece will build upon the incredible momentum Arlekin has demonstrated since the start of the pandemic. For more on their stunning success, read on.
More About Arlekin
Over the past three years, Arlekin began working in English and swept, along with Huntington Theatre Company, Boston's Elliot Norton Awards in 2020 with Best Director, Best Production, Best Actress, Best Design. During the pandemic, Arlekin created two virtual theater productions that catapulted Igor and Arlekin onto the global stage and included performances by Mikhail Baryshnikov and Jessica Hecht ("Friends," "Breaking Bad"). These shows went viral all over the world and received two New York Times Critic's Picks.

The Fooksman Family Foundation was established in 2018 by Eugene Fooksman. It aims to help shape the future of Israel, strengthen Jewish continuity, and promote Jewish life and culture in a post-exile era. The Foundation is involved in unique projects spanning arts and culture, community building, consciousness-raising, and beyond.
NOTE: There will be no solicitations during this presentation, but budget needs will be discussed and we will have time afterward for a private debrief with only funders present.
