At this invitation-only, in-person event just before the kickoff of JFN's 2022 International Conference, you’ll have the opportunity for a rich discussion on leadership challenges of the post-pandemic period.
Ron Ashkenas, a leadership consultant who has worked with both corporations and nonprofit organizations, will facilitate the conversation. His clients have included J.P Morgan Chase, Cisco Systems, The Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Pfizer, Merck, The World Bank, GlaxoSmithKline, Johnson & Johnson, Zurich Financial Services, ConAgra Foods, Applied Materials, Visiting Nurse Services of New York, Thomson Reuters, MD Anderson Cancer Center, and Stanford University Hospital. Ron was part of the original team that collaborated with then-CEO Jack Welch to develop GE's Work-Out approach for creating a faster, simpler, and more nimble organization. Lately, he’s been working with the Robin Hood Foundation and its grantees, as well as advising Leading Edge. He’s also a leading Harvard Business Review writer.
The pandemic, and the uncertainty we are still experiencing, has upended many of our traditional notions of leadership; so we want to focus on what type of leadership we need – both in our foundations and in our grantees – to face the challenges and leverage the opportunities that we confront. How to deal with a transformed workplace? How to understand the changes around us? How to implement the structural changes that our community needs? How to be bold and decisive in the face of uncertainty? And what are our own personal and professional dilemmas given the uniqueness of our role?
The session will offer us a framework to understand those challenges but, most importantly, will include an interactive part in which we’ll be able to debate and discuss from our own professional perspectives.
