Note from the organizers on the conflict with Rosh Hashanah:

Earlier this year, we scheduled the Unity Summit in conflict with religious observations for Rosh Hashanah, Hijra and Navaratri. Through this oversight, we failed to appreciate the message this decision would send for an event focused so sharply on equity and inclusion. We regret that our initial decision fell short of our values, and we appreciate the outreach we received from many in our community to convey the impact this decision had on them.

We are pleased to announce that the 2017 Unity Summit will shift our start and end times slightly forward in order to better accommodate these observances. Partner specific/focused events will be held September 17-18. The Unity Summit will begin Monday, September 18 at 1:00 PM on Friday and close Wednesday, September 20, at 1:00 PM.  In addition to the shift in dates, we are continuing to explore virtual engagement options.

We recognize that this shift may still not make it possible for everyone to participate. However, we hope that at least some members of our community who could not attend before might now be able to do so, and we remain happy to support anyone who would like to observe any spiritual practice on-site. We will strive to avoid this type of mistake in the future. We remain committed to building a diverse, intersectional movement to advance equity within and through philanthropy.
