How are monumental changes taking place in Israel’s Religious Zionist sector affecting the Jewish community in Israel and abroad? What role can funders play to influence the outcome of these developments?
Israeli journalist and author Yair Ettinger will provide a glimpse into his book, "Unraveled" (published in Hebrew as "Prumim"). An English version of the book will be published in the coming year.
In his book, Yair argues that while the Religious Zionist community has become an integral part of Israel's leadership in a variety of sectors, and while it continues to grow in strength and confidence, its religious and ideological glue is disintegrating. Ideological unrest and conflicts on a historical scale divide the sector.
In this open conversation, Yair will describe the controversies that have shaken up the Religious Zionist sector and Modern Orthodoxy, including changes in the status of women and the status of rabbis.
JFN members Ruthi Saragosti and David Roth will share their philanthropic approaches to this sector, followed by a discussion about the importance/relevance of investing in this area of giving.
