In Israel today, there are approximately 30,000 orphans. Since the start of the war, over 900 new orphans under the age of 18 have been added to the circle of loss. Among them 602 children of fallen IDF soldiers and security forces and 311 children of civilian victims of terror attacks. Additionally, 23 have tragically lost both parents. Meanwhile, 46 children are still waiting for their fathers, who are being held hostage in Gaza. Join us to learn about this critical issue and explore meaningful ways of philanthropic action. What to Expect: - A Macro Perspective: Gain insights into the numbers, challenges, and gaps in state support for war orphans. Hear from Leny Milo, Director of the Foundations and Associations Forum for War Orphans.
- Voices from the Field: Hear from supporting organizations and explore how partnerships between established and new organizations have evolved since October 7. Featuring: Lior Krengel, CEO, The Israeli Children’s Fund, and Shlomi Nahumson, CEO, IDF Widows & Orphans Organization
- Personal Stories: Learn from young individuals who have has navigated this journey, sharing firsthand experiences of challenges and needs.
- Pathways for Impact: Discover how funders can address these gaps and help build a more resilient support system for war orphans.
