Join CANVAS this week for a special session of Matters of the Art, this Thursday at 2 p.m. ET (11 a.m. PT, 19:00 IL) with photographer Gillian Laub.

CANVAS is a Jewish arts and culture funding collaborative incubated at Jewish Funders Network, and Matters of the Art is a CANVAS/JFN funder group dedicated to exploring trends, opportunities, and gaps in the field of Jewish arts and culture.

At this week's session, Gillian will talk about her recent book "Family Matters," one of the most bracing and important photo memoirs of the decade. It’s a deeply personal work that chronicles 20 years in the artist’s family — their distinctly Jewish sensibilities, their successful rise in business, and the profound rifts that tore them apart during the Trump years. The work has won universal acclaim, has been featured as an exhibition at the International Center of Photography, in The New Yorker, The New York Times, and in CANVAS's newsletter, CANVAS Compendium.

CANVAS' goal is to elevate the finest creativity our community has to offer. Gillian’s "Family Matters" has the power to elevate us all. We hope you’ll take some time to explore the work and its impact with us.
