12-1:30pm ET/9-10:30am PT/7-8:30pm Israel
At this Grantmaking Professionals Virtual Meetup, we will discuss nonprofit mergers and acquisitions as part of our series on conflict. Mergers have long been a feature of the Jewish communal landscape, but have become an even more significant topic of conversation since the start of the pandemic. Mergers and acquisitions offer an ideal case study of conflict, since they are frequently difficult and contentious, but often necessary and unavoidable. Grantmaking professionals often have an important role to play in catalyzing and supporting them. At this session we will invite grantmaking professionals who have been involved in mergers or acquisitions to share their experiences navigating conflicts, with an eye towards how colleagues can help their nonprofit partners lean into healthy conflicts without falling into unproductive strife. As always we will have plenty of time for small group discussion and fellowship.
