For the duration of the crisis, JFN will be sending regular updates highlighting philanthropic needs and opportunities for action as they emerge.  These include:

  • Recordings of our Zoom briefings, which can be found here. Later today, you can see a recording of today's webinar about combatting the surge in antisemitism on college campuses.
  • Regular dispatches from our President and CEO AndrĂ©s Spokoiny, which can be found here
  • Our list of vetted agencies and nonprofits, which is updated daily, can be found here
  • Events relevant to the crisis, responding to issues in Israel and also as they emerge in the diaspora.

JFN Members can take advantage of the JFN Concierge Service to find support and advice customized to their specific needs. Members looking to respond to the crisis can utilize the Concierge Service to be connected with other members working toward the same goal, to find resources provided by our partners in the secular philanthropic space, and much more. Gali Cooks, President and CEO of Leading Edge, will brief JFN members on the emerging needs and concerns of staff members at Jewish organizations in North America since the Hamas attacks of October 7. Using data from Leading Edge's 2023 Employee Experience Survey along with insights gathered from the field, Cooks will discuss how the employee experience at Jewish organizations has (and has not) changed in the past several weeks since the crisis in Israel began.

She will offer specific recommendations for foundation professionals and for funders to support their employees (and grantees' employees) so that people feel cared for and are able to work effectively under challenging circumstances.
