With the economic downturn, the view from the philanthropic balcony gives a unique vantage.  To better understand their view point, Steven M. Cohen and Dasee Berkowitz assessed Jewish funders' motivations, charachteristics, concerns and practices. The study found a "disconnect" between the Jewish funders and the innovative, independent nonprofits they support, offering recommendations to better bridge this disconnect.
