The Fall of Roe v Wade: How it Happened, How the U.S. Jewish Community is Responding & What It Means for Israel

We invite the Israeli philanthropic community to hear from leaders driving US Jewish institutional involvement in the struggle for reproductive rights and consider the implications for us in Israel.

Speakers

Sheila Katz, CEO National Council of Jewish Women

Lisa Eisen, Co-President, Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Philanthropies

Anat Thon Ashkenazi, Director of the Center for Democratic Values and Institutions at the Israel Democracy Institute.

The US Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which overturns Roe v Wade and paves the way for US states to outlaw abortion, has sent shockwaves throughout the US and beyond. Reversing achievements for gender justice that seemed immutable, the decision is a manifestation of larger anti-democratic processes that are being felt around the world including and especially here in Israel.
