Major changes are reshaping the rules that govern nonprofits and charitable giving, and funders need to stay ahead of the curve. What do these new policies mean for how you manage and distribute your philanthropic dollars?

In this two-part series, experts from Alliance Bernstein will break down the latest developments and share actionable recommendations to help you adapt.

Session II, November 12, 2025
Supporting Grantees Through Turbulent Times
As policies shift under the new administration, the social sector is facing a new set of challenges and opportunities. While giving is up by over 6% per recent Giving USA data, cuts to federal funding, increased demand for services, and policy shifts are placing added strain on the nonprofit staff and board leaders – and by default, their funding partners.

These shifts present ideal timing to assess nonprofit financial practices. With insights from Bernsten’s new research piece created in partnership with Indiana University’s Lilly School of Philanthropy, this session is designed to help grantors position themselves to help grantees. This session outlines the support structures and financial resilience best practices that you can pass down to grantees you fund, or to the public charities you support as board member, to lead to success.

While nonprofit program and development teams are working to meet the needs of community and fundraising goals, finance and operation leaders can focus on streamlining budgeting practices, assess spending policies, and maximize investments to help stabilize and grow the mission.
