The philanthropic field in Israel is relatively new, rapidly growing, and very different from that of other countries. But well-executed philanthropy can make a big difference in Israeli society.

Funding effectively and strategically is never easy anywhere. In Israel, whether for native Israelis or Jewish funders in the Diaspora, bridging the gap between the status quo and your vision of the future can be a daunting challenge—but a worthwhile one. And whether you're new to funding in Israel or looking to grow or improve your existing social investments there, JFN Israel can help you achieve your goals.

We connect learning journey to action, and help you navigate the challenges of the cultural divide, focus  your new strategies, and maximize the impact of your giving.

Meet JFN Israel's Executive Director
Sigal Yaniv Feller

Sigal is JFN Israel's Executive Director. Based in the Israel office, she works with funders from Israel and around the world, helping them develop or enhance philanthropic strategies for their Israel giving. Sigal works with families, couples, individuals and foundations, and customizes the advisory package to any stage of giving — people who are new to philanthropy making their first steps, established funders wanting to refocus or change focus, as well as families managing generational transitions.

Sigal joined JFN in 2015 after returning from Hong Kong, where she and her family were based as Israeli diplomats. During these years Sigal served as the Israeli representative of KH-UIA (Keren Hayesod) to Hong Kong and the Far East.

In 2017 Sigal wrote JFN’s Guide to Funder Collaboration with the Government of Israel and often travels internationally speaking about Israeli philanthropy, funder collaborations, and effective philanthropy.

Sigal has over 18 years of experience with the Israeli philanthropic sector. She served as the founding Executive Director of the Green Environment Fund (GEF), a unique philanthropic collaborative model of five foundations supporting the environment in Israel through a joint strategy. Over the course of her ten-year tenure, GEF was a significant player and leader in building the environmental movement in Israel. In 2006, Sigal was chosen as one of the 10 most influential people on the environment in Israel by the Israeli magazine The Marker.

Prior to her role with GEF, Sigal worked in the fields of informal education, leadership development, and guiding groups of American youth and students through various short- and long-term programs in Israel.

Sigal was born in New York to Israeli parents, and moved to Israel at the age of 6. She holds degrees in Biology and Environmental Science from Hebrew University.

Sigal lives in Reut with her husband and three children.
