Israel is in the midst of its biggest constitutional crisis in a generation (or even longer). The new Israeli government judicial reform program, which, among a myriad of other changes, includes weakening the Supreme Court and changing the way judges are chosen, looks to alter the very balance of power between the functions of state. This has led to widespread, ongoing mass protests throughout the country.
Join us on Tuesday, February 28th at 12pm - 1pm ET (9am -10am PT, 7pm-8pm IT) to discuss the consequences of the new Israeli government’s initiatives, the consequences they pose for Israeli society, and what role we should play in the face of these initiatives.
Speakers David Horovitz Founding Editor, Times of Israel
Orni Petruschka High-Tech Entrepreneur and Philanthropic Leader
Before the event, please listen to my interview with Yohanan Plesner, Director of the Israel Democracy Institute, on the subject of these anti-democratic initiatives.
