For many funders, the events of recent weeks have created a dilemma regarding the field of shared society, and have raised questions around possible action in the face of the recent extremism among Jewish and Arab populations. Join us for a peer conversation in which we examine and challenge the paradigms on which we have operated until now.

We will discuss how philanthropy can have a significant and effective impact by reducing existing gaps and challenges.

The meeting will be opened by JFN members who will share decisions they have made considering the current situation: have they chosen to maintain their philanthropy strategy? Have they chosen to adjust it?

Prof. Eran Halperin, Founder, and Co-Chair and Ron Gerlitz, Executive Director of the aChord Center* will present an overview of the recent crises from the perspective of social psychology; what is the current situation, what are the recovery processes, and what insights are relevant and can be used to create effective philanthropic work in the shared spheres.

We will facilitate small discussion groups with funders working in fields that are directly and indirectly affected by the crisis.

We will discuss insights that have emerged and how they can be applied to the giving strategy | What information is important for us to have for future decisions? | Which philanthropic models have proved to be effective even in times of crisis? | Are there new directions of giving that the crisis has highlighted for us?

* aChord Center was established in response to the field's need for practical knowledge and innovative tools to best deal with psychological barriers in intergroup relations. The Center has a unique ability to connect the latest research with real-world needs and activities.
