This is the fifth installment of "Coffee with...," a series designed to provide a unique opportunity for JFN West members to engage in small-group conversation with and among JFN leaders and members.
Winnie Sandler Grinspoon, an officer on the JFN Board, is president of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, the creator of PJ Library®, a program that shares Jewish tradition, culture, and values with more than 675,000 children and their families in multiple countries through monthly gifts of children’s books and resources. The foundation also works to enhance the Jewish community through its JCamp180™ initiative to support summer camp with an emphasis on fundraising, strategic planning and board development, and its Life & Legacy™ program, which works across North America to build endowments through legacy giving.
The Grinspoon Foundation and Life & Legacy were recently recognized with JFN's Shapiro Prize for Philanthropic Collaboration. Under Winnie's leadership, the foundation has launched All Together Now, a matching grant program that has raised more than $16 million for Jewish summer camps in the past year.
Prior to her full-time work in philanthropy, Winnie practiced law in New York and in Boston. She lives in Weston, Mass. You can learn more about her in this recent eJewish Philanthropy article.
