We are excited to invite you to our annual high holidays gathering, exploring the theme of boundaries within the Jewish community and identity. In these complex times, understanding how and why we draw boundaries is important in understanding Jewish identity. Join us for a meaningful conversation that delves into the historical, conceptual, and current aspects of this topic.
The event will feature two enriching discussions:
- Historical and Conceptual Perspectives: A deep dive into the purposes and consequences of communal boundaries throughout Jewish history. We'll explore how these boundaries have been enforced, challenged, and renegotiated over time.
- Modern-Day Challenges: Hear from two funders with unique viewpoints on how to navigate and implement boundaries in today's world, addressing the pressing issues we face as a community.
SPEAKERS:
- Daniel Bonner, Executive Director, The Paul E. Singer Foundation
- Rabbi Dr. Donniel Hartman, President, Shalom Hartman Institute
- Dr. Charles Heckscher, Distinguished Professor Emeritus, Labor Studies and Employment Relations (LSER), and Director, Center for the Study of Collaboration in Work and Society at Rutgers-New Brunswick
- Rabbi Rebecca W. Sirbu, Executive Vice President, Jewish Funders Network
- Joy Sisisky, CEO, Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund (Bay Area, CA)
- Andres Spokoiny, President and CEO, Jewish Funders Network
This event is not open to the press.
