Join us as we explore how philanthropy can play a pivotal role in reducing isolation and building belonging across society. We are kicking off JFN’s new Mindfulness and Mental Health Peer Network with an insightful conversation featuring Kim Samuel, Founder and Chief Belonging Officer of the Samuel Centre for Social Connectedness. Author of On Belonging: Finding Connection in an Age of Isolation, Samuel challenges us to think of belonging as not just a need but as a right. Through her latest initiative, the Belonging Forum, Kim recently led a first-of-its-kind study of the state of belonging the UK, including explorations of people's connections to one another, to nature, to systems of power, and to sense of purpose. Building on her research, teaching, and advocacy, she will talk about the importance of social connectedness in Jewish tradition and practical solutions for how philanthropists can heal disconnection and build cultures of belonging. Moderated by Marvin Israelow, JFN Member and Board Member of the Institute for Jewish Spirituality, this promises to be an enlightening discussion on one of today’s most pressing social challenges.
