The Edmond de Rothschild Foundation, Jewish Federation Los Angeles, and the Jewish Funders Network Award 24 Grants to Strengthen Israel’s North 

These Young Adult Initiatives are Part of the “Pioneers of the North” Matching Grant Partnership Deploying $4 million in Philanthropic Support

The Edmond de Rothschild Foundation (Israel) and Jewish Federation Los Angeles, in partnership with the Jewish Funders Network, announced the award of $2 million in support to 24 young adult initiatives as part of the “Pioneers of the North” matching grant program. Designed to empower young adult leadership, foster local entrepreneurship, and create high-quality employment opportunities for young people, the program unlocked an additional $2 million in support from JFN members, creating a total investment of $4 million in the field.

Elli Booch, Director of Philanthropy at the Edmond de Rothschild Foundation, shared, “The selected initiatives are generating real impact, from strengthening communities of young pioneers, through building local leadership, to creating new opportunities for employment, entrepreneurship, and shared living. Young people are the primary engine for rebuilding the region and laying the foundation for hope and resilience.”

Aaron Goldberg, Jewish Federation Los Angeles Senior VP and Director of its Israel Office, added, “In the wake of October 7, the Jewish community of Los Angeles mobilized in an unprecedented manner to support Israel. Two years later, strengthening Israel’s North remains a shared priority, and young adults are critical to that future. These initiatives will serve as a catalyst for growth and resilience, and we are proud to partner with the Edmond de Rothschild Foundation and the Jewish Funders Network to bring about this reality.”
