Accelerating Climate Solutions in the Face of Disaster

Thursday, January 23, 2025

Wednesday, January 29, 2025 | Zoom
11:00am ET | 8:00am PT | 6:00pm IT

Already this year, wildfires have had a devastating impact, leaving thousands in Los Angeles without their homes while fires continue to burn. Join the Green Funders Forum North America for a framework to  orient your climate philanthropy accordingly. We will be joined by Jonathan Foley , Executive Director of Project Drawdown, who will present his program's Drawdown Roadmap Framework designed to accelerate and prioritize climate solutions. We will discuss how foundations and funders at various levels of investment can utilize the Roadmap to inform their climate actions. And we will discuss the implications of the Los Angeles wildfires for climate philanthropy.

In the newest episode ofWhat Gives? The Jewish Philanthropy Podcast, JFN President and CEO Andrés Spokoiny is joined by author, journalist, and podcast returnee Abigail Pogrebin, and Rabbi Dov Linzer, President and Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshivat Chovevei Torah. Together, they co-authored It Takes Two to Torah: An Orthodox Rabbi and Reform Journalist Discuss and Debate Their Way Through the Five Books of Moses. They discuss how their partnership has navigated complex questions of pluralism, Jewish continuity, and the enduring significance of Torah in modern Jewish life. This thought-provoking conversation delves into bridging divides, grappling with sacred text, and modeling how Torah study can unite us in a polarized world.
