Fall Programs You Won't Want to Miss

Thursday, September 25, 2025

Our fall lineup brings together leading voices to help you navigate philanthropy’s most pressing challenges, deepen your giving practice, and discover new opportunities for impact.

Pro Democracy Philanthropy Series:
Higher Education and Democracy
Tuesday, October 21 | 11:30am - 1:00pm ET | Zoom

In a powerful essay in the Times of IsraelDr. Tali Yariv-Mashal explores the moral double bind faced by Jewish philanthropists today: confronting rising antisemitism in liberal spaces while also grappling with anti-democratic forces in Israel. She argues that this moment calls for funding strategies that embrace nuance, strengthen pluralism, and invest in long-term discovery and not quick fixes.

Building on this analysis, join us for the next session of our Pro-Democracy Philanthropy series, where Dr. Yariv-Mashal and guest experts will examine how philanthropy can support research and academia as pillars of democracy. Together, we’ll consider how investment in knowledge creation can foster a more informed and engaged society.

Adapting to a Changing U.S. Policy Landscape
Wednesday, October 22 | 12–1pm ET | Zoom

Major shifts in federal policy are transforming the rules governing nonprofits and charitable giving. In the first session of this two-part series, Bernstein experts Erica Doyle and Marisa Swystun will share research-driven insights and innovative giving strategies — from recoverable grants to mission-aligned investments — to help funders amplify impact in a resource-constrained environment.

And please join us for Session II on Wednesday, November 12. We will turn the lens on nonprofits, exploring how changes in regulation are transforming the sector and what funders can do to respond effectively. Learn more.

A Jewish Toolkit for Philanthropy
Monday, October 27 | 1–2pm ET | Zoom

Explore centuries of Jewish wisdom to shape a giving practice that is both deeply personal and rooted in tradition. Featuring Dan Libenson and Rabbi Rebecca Sirbu, this interactive series asks timeless questions: why we give, what we support, and how we give.

Be sure to join us for the remaining sessions in this series on Monday, November 10th and Monday, November 24th.
